We are a 501c3 youth-powered non-profit organization that supplies homeless children with the tools to create. We also teach other kids about the struggles of childhood homelessness, and empower them to be change makers, no matter what age.

As kids, we know that we can’t change the problem of homelessness overnight, but    WE CAN DO SO MUCH!
We can give homeless children the opportunity to be kids. We can give them something to call their own at a time when they don’t have much. We can show these kids that someone cares about what they are going through...

Was a great success!  We raised over $3,200 during the event, which brings us so much closer to raising $15,000 this year to provide 1000 homeless children in Massachusetts with an art pack before the end of 2012...we are off to a great start!

What we do:

Art Packs

HFC’s main purpose is providing drawstring backpacks filled with a variety of age appropriate art supplies to children experiencing homelessness between the ages of 2 and 18 in the state of Massachusetts, called art packs. All of the supplies are provided by community donations, art supply drives, or purchased with money from fundraising activites, or through sales of crafts made by the board of directors or volunteers, which are sold at craft sales or through our online marketplace.
To find out what we accept for donations and more about why art supplies are so important for children experiencing homelessness, check out our Why Art Packs? page.

School and community outreach
Moira and board members present statistics about homelessness in a way children can understand and give them ways to be empowered to help HFC with its mission. Groups are given a choice of activities to partake in depending on their interest level. Some bead pins, make well wish cards for our packs or have a drive at their school or community center.
